Celebrate Music and Musicians in the Savannah Music Festival in Savannah, GA
Springtime in Savannah, Georgia is a magical time made even more magical by the Savannah Music Festival which starts on March 18th and last for three weeks. For musicians everywhere, this is a place where they can come celebrate their craft. Musicians from all over the world will be traveling to Savannah to show off their particular musical talents and styles. This is a great time for other musicians to come and learn from each other and from the famous musicians brought to the area by the festival.
One of the most famous music venues in Savannah is the Historic Savannah Theater Musical Productions where the music is always the best quality and the show is always on a grand scale. If music is what brought you to Savannah then this is one theater that can’t be missed. You will be dazzled by the skills of the performers, and the theater itself is a showcase of art deco style.
While in Savannah it would be a crime to miss the historical sights of the city. Visit Sherman’s Headquarter and other landmarks of Savannah’s past in the Homemade Thunder Civil War Walking Tour. Learn about the past in style with the Savannah Historic Overview Trolley Tour. An open-air trolley will take you through historic Savannah and a guide will help you delve into the past with stories and information on Savannah at the time of the Civil War.

This event is another annual Boston concert that draws visitors from all over. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the beginning of fall with song, and this year’s event is taking place on the evening of September 20. RiverSing features the Revels singers, Family Folk Chorale, the Halalisa Singers, and Sharing a New Song. The event begins with a parade from Harvard Square to the river. This year’s special guest is Stan Strickland, a saxophonist. This event is free and open to the public.
Hosted by the famed Berklee School of Music, this is the ninth year for the annual jazz festival. This year’s event takes place September 18 through 26. The jazz festival is an outdoor event that is one of the most popular outdoor gatherings in Boston. Nine stages are set up in Boston and Cambridge, and performances take place daily. Headline performers for this year’s festival include Berklee alum Branford Marsalis, Kurt Elling, Ahmad Jamal, and David Sanborn. A special family aspect of this event is the Target Family Park, which offers kid-friendly activities and entertainment. On Saturday, Sept. 26, free concerts will be featured all day with multiple stages on Columbus Avenue.
