Attend Branson’s Autumn Days Arts and Crafts Festival This Season

Fall is fast approaching, and Branson has the perfect lineup of attractions for visitors in the 37th annual Autumn Days Arts and Crafts Festival, which lasts from September 16-19. The event is free for all, and once you’ve made it to Historic Downtown Branson, you can enjoy locally crafted and made novelties, art, jewelry, and cuisine. You can see the work of approximately 150 crafters and artists and join the over 12,000 people that will be in attendance. Since the event is over a span of four days, don’t forget to pick out available Branson lodging ahead of time.
Branson has plenty of other fun venues for the adults and kids, such as Titanic – The Legend Continues. The museum features 400 gorgeous Titanic artifacts and several exhibits for you to see as you walk through. As you enter in the half-scale replica of the ship, you’ll be given a passenger “ticket” to use and put yourself in the shoes of those who once walked on the ship. Some of the highlights of the tour include the Grand Staircase, the Father Browne collection, and the touch of an iceberg.
If you’re into the history of the weird and wild, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum has some of the most odd exhibits and models in the area. The building appears as though an earthquake has shaken the foundations, and when you go in, you can see things like a two-headed calf model, an authentic vampire killing kit, a Roman Coliseum model built out of playing cards and many more attractions.

After over a decade of incredible performances, the Showboat Branson Belle has announced that they will be completely changing their show and transforming the appearance of the whole ship. By 2011, the showboat hopes to present guests with an entirely new look and entirely new performances. Guests who would like to see the Showstoppers! with Todd Oliver and his Amazing Talking Dogs one last time before the changes are made are advised to book the reservations early because they are anticipated to be completely booked up!

Branson Celebrates Annual August Car Show!

Hurry and join in the fun at Branson’s Shepherd of the Hills car show, taking place from August 12-14. The event premieres with the “Show n’ Shine,” which boasts over 500 unique models of cars dating back to the early part of the 20th century. Each of these cars will be parked at the Shepherd of the Hills Historic Homestead, and after viewing the cars, you can take a break to cool off back at your area lodging.
The Shepherd of the Hills Vigilante Zip Rider will have special hours during the car show, so you may want to book now to make sure you have a spot. The hours are from 5:00-7:30 pm on August 12 and 13. This amazing attraction starts 230 feet above ground on the observation tower deck and pulls passengers down a half-mile-long line to ground level. You’ll be traveling at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour!
Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours
If you’re still in the mood for a scenic zip line experience, don’t forget the Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours, which offers up to three types of zip line attractions. Visitors have the option of the Blue Streak, a 70-foot free fall which consists of one lengthy zip line and a gentle descent after the free fall. Also, you may try the ever-popular Ozarks Xplorer, consisting of seven zip lines and lasting approximately two and half hours. Our other main attraction, the Flying Prospector, is a condensed version of the Ozarks Xplorer and lasts around an hour an a half. These exciting zip lines book up quickly, so make sure you make reservations ahead of time!

Legendary Country Star George Jones is Scheduled to Visit the Branson Area on September 4

The Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater in nearby Lampe, MO will soon be host to one of the greatest country singers of all time, George Jones, on September 4. After starting his career in 1954, George Jones has received numerous awards and honors for songs such as White Lightning, Tender Years, He Stopped Loving Her Today and many more. Don’t miss your chance to see this amazing country artist perform right here in the Ozarks. Also set to perform is Jason Boland & The Stragglers, one of contemporary country’s fastest rising bands.
While in the Branson area take the time to enjoy a few more phenomenal shows. SIX is a group of six brothers who perform every sound you hear in the show with their mouths. This astonishing show includes great versions of your favorite songs by the Beach Boys, Mo-Town, and more. SIX made their debut on the Donny and Marie Show and has since started performing in Branson.

Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours is opening up a whole new experience for visitors to Ozarks Mountains by presenting two new evening tours, Xplorer in the Dark and Prospector in the Dark. The natural beauty of an evening in the mountains combined with the thrill of the zip lines and suspension bridges creates an exciting new way of having fun in the Branson area. These tours are an addition to the four original day tours offered by Branson Zipline and Canopy Tours. The evening tours started July 19th and will only be continuing until September the 11th until they begin again next year. You won’t want to miss out on these new zip line experiences!
