Come and be a part of Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World Theme Parks this February from the 25th to the 27th. The event is designed to help women of all ages celebrate the strength, commitment, determination, courage, fantasy, and perseverance that every princess possesses with a half marathon race. The whole weekend is themed around Disney princesses and physical fitness to inspire young women and make them realize they are capable of anything they set their mind to. After the marathon, reward yourself for your dedication to the run by going out and having some fun in Orlando. Florida Manatees Adventure Tour will take you out on the Crystal River where you can swim with some of the beautiful manatees the area is known for. With all of the thrilling activities in Orlando, Florida, you don’t need an excuse to visit. The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival gives you a great reason to visit anyway. This incredible festival takes place from March 17th to May 30th and features unique topiaries shaped like Disney characters, stunning flower gardens, and even knowledgeable horticulturists who can help even the most experienced gardeners learn how to improve their gardening techniques.  It all takes place in the magical Walt Disney World Theme Park.

While you’re in Walt Disney World for the festival, you won’t want to forget the other theme parks in Orlando, FL. Aquatica is one of the many theme parks in the area. This theme park gives you thrills that are unlike anything you have ever experienced. Sandy, beach-like settings to relax on, wave pools, and other fantastic features make this park completely unique. One of the rides even features an enclosed tube ride that takes you through a clear lagoon where real dolphins are swimming.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival in Orlando, FL

The Epcot Center in the Walt Disney World Theme Park celebrates the return of spring each year with its International Flower and Garden Festival in Orlando, FL. This festival is held from March 17th to May 30th annually. There are thousands of plants used in the festival to construct large topiaries shaped like Disney characters and create lovely gardens. Part of this festival includes Minnie’s Magnificent Butterfly Garden which attracts thousands of exotic butterflies with the various flowers and plants used in the garden. 

Mickey Mouse topiaries reaching heights of ten feet are displayed by gardners who are there to teach others how to create some of these magical displays. Local horticulturists are brought in to talk to the visitors about the plants and give tips and advice on how to make their own gardens better. Everyone can learn something, from those who have never gardened to those who have been gardening all of their lives. 

While visiting the Epcot Center, you might also be interested in exploring some other avenues of Disney World. Activities like Chef Mickey’s Character Dining the Disney Character Breakfast with Limousine will add some fun variety to your trip. If you are in the mood for a unique theater experience, you may also want to attend the Cirque du Soleil La Nouba which is sure to entrance any viewers.

On the evening of July 4th, you can catch the free Fireworks at the Fountain at Lake Eola Park in Orlando, FL. This event features live musical entertainment, a variety of food vendors and options, and, of course, a spectacular fireworks show. Special guests at this event include the Orlando Concert Band and the mayor of Orlando, Florida. Lake Eola Park is a beautiful downtown Orlando destination that features fountains, playgrounds, and the Walt Disney Amphitheater. This event will be fun for the entire family, so add it to your vacation today!

The Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration in Kissimmee, Florida is the area’s largest event, with approximately 40,000 people attending each year. The celebration begins in the afternoon and lasts until the dazzling fireworks show that night. During the day, you can enjoy live musical entertainment from an array of bands and performers, Uncle Sam stilt walkers, street performers, games, activities, and arts and crafts. This event truly has something for everyone. A variety of food vendors will also be on hand. Admission to this great event is free, and it is taking place at Kissimmee’s Lakefront Park, which is fairly close to Disney and other Orlando attractions, making it a great addition to your vacation.

Another option for a July 4th celebration is the Fire Up Your 4th of July at Universal City Walk in Orlando. Located by Universal Studios, this event features live music and games. When you get hungry, you can find something to eat at the outdoor cookout area. The evening ends with a fireworks show. The Universal City Walk is an Orlando entertainment destination and features a variety of restaurants and nightclubs, including the Hard Rock Cafe, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, and NBA City, making it a great destination for evening fun. This event combines a great location with a fantastic fireworks show that will not disappoint.
