From April 20-23, Gatlinburg – Pigeon Forge area visitors can view artistic works at the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts show, featuring the talented craftsmanship of local artists. The event began in 1937, and it has grown over the years, providing the Gatlinburg area with beautiful art pieces, including quilts, detailed ceramics, silver, photography, watercolor and oil paintings, candles and baskets. Visitors will be astounded at the sheer variety of the artistry in the area, and they’ll be able to make a full vacation out of the event from its start to the finish. Go Back in Time for the Gatlinburg – Pigeon Forge Old Mill Heritage Day

Enter a world of authentic history on September 25 inside the fun Old Mill Square beside the Little Pigeon River, where visitors can celebrate the Gatlinburg – Pigeon Forge seventh annual Old Mill Heritage Day. While you’re here, you can shop at the Tanger Factory Outlet Malls, watch candy and bread being mixed and baked, or discover the process that pottery goes through. There enough history, culture, and artistic features here to satisfy the entire family. After you’ve toured the whole area, you can pick out lodging.

For those that would like a little extra historic value, you can see the Biltmore Estate Asheville, NC. This grand mansion was build back in the late 1800′s, and it features 175,000 square feet and 250 rooms. You can admire the detailed French Renaissance architecture that is present in almost every area throughout the large shelter. The self-guided tour also includes a look at the huge library which boasts over 10,000 books.

Another activity, the Titanic Pigeon Forge, Smoky Mountains, is an authentic museum that pulls visitors back to the early 1900′s. You’ll receive the true experience of a passenger onboard the “ship” with a ticket at the start of your walkthrough. The museum, shaped like the Titanic, is approximately half the size of the real ship, and it features the famous Grand Scale Staircase and even a communications center, where you can “SOS” neighboring rescue services.
