Legendary Country Star George Jones is Scheduled to Visit the Branson Area on September 4

The Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater in nearby Lampe, MO will soon be host to one of the greatest country singers of all time, George Jones, on September 4. After starting his career in 1954, George Jones has received numerous awards and honors for songs such as White Lightning, Tender Years, He Stopped Loving Her Today and many more. Don’t miss your chance to see this amazing country artist perform right here in the Ozarks. Also set to perform is Jason Boland & The Stragglers, one of contemporary country’s fastest rising bands.
While in the Branson area take the time to enjoy a few more phenomenal shows. SIX is a group of six brothers who perform every sound you hear in the show with their mouths. This astonishing show includes great versions of your favorite songs by the Beach Boys, Mo-Town, and more. SIX made their debut on the Donny and Marie Show and has since started performing in Branson.

Come to Branson on July 11 around noon to the Branson Landing to see great performances by talented kids from all over the United States. American Kids, Inc. is a non-profit organization which has been around for over 28 years that helps kids develop in character strengths. See dancing, juggling, singing, ventriloquism, and more from kids ranging in age from 4 to 18 years old. Bring the whole family to see these great performances from wonderfully talented kids.

Enjoy a Historical Look at Branson
Branson is always bustling with excitement, and May 10th will no doubt be an exciting day as the Lawrence County Founders Day is celebrated. Come and enjoy the fun as well as the history. Everyone is encouraged to dress in the style of the 1800s. Dress sharp, because there will be a costume contest! You can enjoy live music all day long as you take in the history. Food and drinks will be available. You will also be able to take a historical tour of Mount Vernon, Missouri. Fun and games will be galore with a seed spitting contest, sack races, a scarecrow building contest, a haystack treasure hunt, a horseshoe contest and much more. Best of all, each and every event is free! Don’t miss an opportunity to enjoy free food and free fun at this year’s Lawrence County Founders Day Festival.
If after the Founders Day celebration you find yourself yearning for more history, then be sure to check out the Historic Homestead Tour. Enjoy a 60-minute tour with stops at Old Matt’s Cabin, Inspiration Point, Old Wright Church and Little Pete’s Cave. Inside the cabin, you will find numerous antiques and historical items, including furniture, photographs, tools, cooking utensils and much more. Then you can get a great look at Inspiration Tower, a 230-foot-tall lookout tower that was built in 1989 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Harold Bell Wright’s first visit to the Ozark Mountains. The tram will also make a stop at Inspiration Point for an unbelieveable view of the Ozark Mountains. You will also be able to see where Wright pitched his tent to write “The Shepherd of the Hills.” After visiting Inspiration Point, take at look at the quaint Wright Church, which resembles one that Harold Bell Wright preached in during his time in Kansas. Then take a look at the Old Mill Theatre, where you’ll get a closeup look at what it takes to produce a show. You’ll also get to tour Little Pete’s Cave, the Harold Bell Wright Museum and even have a chance to purchase a copy of the famous book!
For a hisorical feel of Branson’s entertainment indusry, check out the Baldknobbers Jamboree. Started in 1959 by the Mabe family, the Baldknobbers Jamboree was Branson’s very first show. Since the four original Mabe brothers began entertaining people on the Branson lakefront, their family legacy has grown to attract large crowds with its variety of country music and hilarious comedy. After the show, drop by the gift shop and pick up a souvenir of any of the great show performers. You will find a wide selection of CDs, clothing, videos and novelties.
