Greek Culture Comes to Myrtle Beach in Late September!

President to be at the Washington DC National Book Festival!
The National Mall in Washington DC will be hosting the 10th annual National Book Festival on September 25, where visitors will be able to see President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, as they chair the event. Famous authors like Katherine Paterson, Scott Turow, Gordon S. Wood, and more will be there as well for visitors to talk with and learn more about their books. Enter a world of authentic history on September 25 inside the fun Old Mill Square beside the Little Pigeon River, where visitors can celebrate the Gatlinburg – Pigeon Forge seventh annual Old Mill Heritage Day. The Americana Music Festival and Conference will bring the best Americana musicians in the business to Nashville, TN from September 8th to the 11th. Popular alternative country musicians like the Avett Brothers, Emmylou Harris, and Rodney Crowell will take the stage and play some of their hits on the final evening of this 4 night event while awards are handed out to outstanding Americana music contributors by host Jim Lauderdale. The Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel will be holding conferences on the ways of getting into the music business as a part of the festival. In addition, the entire town will be welcoming Americana musicians to play at various venues all over Nashville. This event is huge for Americana fans!
When you aren’t busy enjoying alternative country music, head out for some traditional favorites played by country legends, rising stars, and current popular musicians at the Ryman with Opry Country Classics. Opry Country Classics is a unique show that is only on available on Thursdays for the month of September. Luckily for you, it is available on September 9th while you’re in town for the festival!
