Pack Warm for Winter in the Grand Canyon!
The last leaves of autumn are about to drop, and the chilly winter weather will extend even to the Grand Canyon. If you decide to plan a vacation around the area this year, you’ll have plenty of sightseeing and areas to go to, but make sure you’re mindful of the new season. Some of the trails may have ice on them, and hiking into the Grand Canyon is only recommended if you have a professional guide to take you along. Luckily, there are many Grand Canyon activities for you to browse through to find a safe and fun sightseeing experience. The raw, natural landscape across the Painted Desert is certainly worth it, whether you’re planning a trip in December or June.
If you’re set on seeing the canyon sights on foot, you can easily do so with the Grand Canyon Explorer Hike. The hike will follow much of the ancient Indian cliff markings, and you’ll be able to snap pictures of some of the fossils that have been embedded into the rock. After a long afternoon, you can sit down to a delicious lunch and beverage, enjoying the view and soaking up the sun’s rays. The tour is around eight hours, so pack only what you need.
In addition to a walking tour, you can also travel in style with the Grand Sunset Safari Jeep Tour, which travels across miles of the South Rim for gorgeous views of the Kaibab National Forest, where you’ll hopefully get to see some of the wildlife inside the area along with arching terrain that is truly epic in stature. Later on, you’ll walk up 80 feet into an observation tower, offering you a full view of your surroundings including the San Francisco Peaks.

I would love to see the Grand Canyon, and in my opinion snow would make it even more gorgeous!
