The city of Nashville will soon be filling up with the hottest music stars and legends of country music as the 44th Annual CMA Awards approach. Artists like Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, and Taylor Swift will be waiting to see who wins awards like Female Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, and Vocal Group of the Year. It’s an exciting time that helps define some of the greatest country hits and artists of 2010. Some of the artists who are expected to perform at the event this year are Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, and Zac Brown Band with Alan Jackson while some of the presenters include The Band Perry, LeAnn Rimes, Kellie Pickler, and Tim McGraw. The event will be taking place at the Bridgestone Arena November 10th and tickets are flying out of the box office. You won’t want to miss this year’s CMA Awards!

Of course, you can’t really honor country music during your time in Nashville without taking in the show that gave country its start, the Grand Ole Opry. The Grand Ole Opry has performances every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday that feature rising stars and popular artists. You never know who will be taking the stage, but you always know you’re in for an evening of fantastic country music. The Grand Ole Opry just celebrated its 85th birthday and still continues to be a cornerstone of country music today.

Get the full country experience by continuing through history with the Ryman Auditorium Self-Guided Tours. As the historic auditorium where the Grand Ole Opry’s traditions began, this building has had an incredible number of stars and legends walk through its halls. Minnie Pearl, Hank Williams, and many other legendary performers performed on the stage that you will get a chance to stand on and have your picture taken. From looking at the displays and memorabilia to standing on-stage, being at the Ryman Auditorium and remembering country music’s past is a beautiful experience.

I’d be interested to see who wins the vocal group of the year! I heard on the radio that Brad Paisley won the CMA in France for best country vocalist! I didn’t think the French even listened to country.

  2. Candice says:

That’s funny. I don’t think Brad Paisley was even nominated for best male vocalist for the CMA awards!
