Branson’s Titanic Museum has been a huge hit with area travelers ever since its inception. From its interactive exhibits to the 400 artifacts housed throughout the museum, the Titanic Museum has painted a vivid picture of the Titanic’s ill-fated voyage while maintaining a sense of respect in regards to the tragedy of the event. And this April 10, the Titanic Museum will be adding an exciting, new gallery that will offer visitors yet another detailed look at the history of the Titanic in the form of the Titanic Movie Exhibit. The new gallery will focus on James Cameron’s 1997 run-away success Titanic. Just some of the pieces set to be featured at the opening of the gallery include Rose’s ‘jump’ red dress, photos from the filming of the movie, actual props from the film, and the famous Heart of the Ocean necklace, a 155-caret blue sapphire valued at $250,000!
Of course, aside from the new exhibit detailing the popular movie Titanic, visitors will still find a wealth of information and artifacts relating to the actual Titanic as well. In particular, you’ll be able to walk down a stunning replica of the Grand Staircase, experience the general fervor that surrounded the Titanic before its departure, and gain insight on the many factors that played into the sinking of the Titanic for a gripping, historical account.
And while the Titanic Museum’s newest exhibit is sure to be a welcomed addition to the Branson entertainment scene, it’s far from the only attraction making noise in Branson for 2008. Another great 2008 addition to Branson, that will be opening May 24, is the Sight and Sound Theatre. Sight and Sound has been performing in Lancaster for years, and has often been cited as in a class of its own. And for the first time they are branching out, and have opened a new theater in Branson! The company is well regarded for their detailed production of faith-based plays and musicals, and will open in Branson with Noah The Musical.
Through an amazing production complete with rotating set pieces, stage designs towering 40 feet into the air, 3D video imaging, pyrotechnics, live animals and talented acting, the story of Noah and the Ark will be faithfully reproduced to provide a touching time of entertainment that is guaranteed to be appropriate for the entire family! Simply put, the Sight and Sound Theatre is looking to provide a time of entertainment the likes of which Branson has never seen, and should definitely be on your must-see list during your next visit to the Ozarks.
