Nearby Nashville Hosts Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration
Starting on August 25 in Nashville‘s nearby town of Shelbyville, fans will be able to attend concerts, shows, and displays of horses situated in a 105-acre complex, marking a new year for the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration Grounds. Visitors will see special horse breeds like Quarter, Spotted Saddle, Racking, and even Arabian! Join the fun with the other nearly 250,000 fans that come from over 40 states. If you’re interested in staying around the city for the 11 day event, browse through our extensive list of lodging in Nashville or surrounding areas.
Additional fun can be had in Music City with the Nashville Unpublished Walking Tour, which gives you a balanced historic look at the area’s past and culture. Discover untold facts about famous music artists like Johnny Cash, Elvis, and others. The tour’s biggest enjoyment – a behind the scenes look at the Ryman Auditorium, will give the kids and adults a new perspective on the entertainment that has taken place in decades past. Finally, you’ll learn about some of America’s old war soldiers, like Fannie Battle, a Confederate spy.
For a separate excursion, the Nashville Trolley Tour offers great information on Nashville’s downtown district. Bring along your camera for snapshots of Tennessee’s State Capitol, Ryman Auditorium, Music Row, Parthenon, and much, much more. The guided tour provides a comprehensive look at the city’s highlights, along with answers to questions you may have as you ride along.
