Spend some time honoring the presidents who helped shape our country with a visit to Mount Rushmore. The Mount Rushmore area isn’t just home to an impressive 6 story tall carving of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, it’s also home to the National Presidential Wax Museum and President’s Park. You can spend an entire trip to Mount Rushmore focusing on the history of America and the presidents who made it what it is today.

When visiting the Mount Rushmore area, everyone’s first stop has to be Mount Rushmore itself. The Mount Rushmore Grand Legends Tour will give you the Mount Rushmore experience and also take you to several other important landmarks such as Custer State Park where you will be given buffalo stew for lunch, Crazy Horse Memorial, and a ride on an authentic 1880 train through the Black Hills of South Dakota. For a tour of Mount Rushmore that allows you to go at your own pace, take the Mount Rushmore Audio Tour. Learn the history behind the creation of Mount Rushmore through music, narration, and recordings with the creator of Mount Rushmore. You can listen to the narration before, during, or after your self-guided tour.

After viewing Mount Rushmore, you’re certain to be feeling patriotic. Continue your enjoyment of the area with a trip to the National President Wax Museum. See life-size replicas of past presidents on display in historic moments of United States history. Stand with President Nixon as he greets the first astronauts to land on the moon. The displays are historically accurate in dress and surroundings. With such excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail, you will experience history in way you never have before.

If you’re ready to go back to more larger than life replicas of past presidents, visit President’s Park – A Sculpture Park Tribute.  20 foot tall busts of 42 of our presidents are displayed at the park. Each bust is accompanied with information about the president’s life and the United States at the time of that person’s presidency. In addition, corresponding state and national flags from the time are displayed next to the president giving you a view of the nation’s growth as you travel through the park.
