Having been founded in 1989, the Orlando Magic is a relatively young franchise within the NBA and has worked hard to stay competitive since day one. The one-time home of legendary Shaquille O’Neal, the Orlando Magic have returned to the top-tier form that Shaq brought in the early 90’s with the acquisition of Dwight Howard – a dominate 6’ 11”, 265 pound center who has defied physics by winning the 2008 Slam Dunk Contest. Along with an all-star cast of sharp-shooters, Dwight Howard offers an up-tempo, entertaining brand of basketball that pleases die hard fans and casual viewers night in and night out. Those interested in experiencing the Orlando Magic’s part in returning the NBA to its golden days would do well to plan quickly as the last regular season game is slated for April 14, 2010.
NASCAR at Daytona International Speedway
Just an hour north of Orlando, sports enthusiasts will find the acclaimed Daytona International Speedway to be a hot bed of racing action this winter and spring, including:
- Rolex 24 – January 30
- Budweiser Shootout – February 6
- NASCAR Daytona 500 – February 13
- Daytona 200 – March 5
- NASCAR Coke Zero 400 – April 3
Whether interested in a particular game or race, or simply looking for competitive entertainment, both the Orlando Magic and Daytona International Speedway are guaranteed to get the adrenaline running during your next visit to The Sunshine State!

I’m definitely more of a football guy but it’s always a thrill to watch sports or any kind of competition. Besides, I’m a Miami Heat fan and you might as well hand over the title to Dwyane Wade.
I really enjoy basketball games, but in Miami I woul probably be inclined to do something in the water or in the nightlife.
My son loves the Orlando Magic. One day I would love to take him to a game.
Sounds like this is going to be a fan favorite.
ahh i bet this must be a enjoyable!
Nascar has to be one of my favorite sports. Who wouldn’t watch hoping (with a slight bit of guilt) that there is a big crash and that you are right there a the screen watching the whole thing!
