Ripley's Haunted AdventureHalloween candy is beginning to fill the seasonal department at your local store. Children are beginning to think about how they want to dress up for the hallowed night of trick-or-treating. If you are a parent, you and your family are starting to think about where you are going to spend this much-beloved holiday. Myrtle Beach offers a solution that will please every member of the family.

Ripley’s Haunted Adventure

A great place to get in the Halloween spirit is Ripley’s Haunted Adventure. This spooky, haunted house is filled with more than ghosts and ghouls. There are high-tech special effects to keep the adults frightened, and there is an arcade to keep the kids entertained. Located on North Ocean Boulevard, this three-story mansion is filled with fun and fright for the whole family.

If you are planning to turn this day trip into a weekend of fun, there is plenty going on to keep the family busy. There are many hotel options in Myrtle Beach to make staying the weekend easy and affordable. Hotels in the area will fit any budget and provide a comfortable place to unwind after a scary day at Ripley’s! Not to mention, a good night sleep to prepare you for the festivities ahead.

A great way to start Halloween day is to go on a dig for your own skeleton! The 26 annual South Carolina Fossil Fair is being held at Ocean Lakes Family Campground on Halloween day. Doors open at 9 AM and the dig is open until 3 PM. If simply finding a real fossil isn’t cool enough, experts from the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of Natural History will be on site to identify your child’s treasures.

After digging for fossils, head back to your hotel and change into your costume because Myrtle Beach has the perfect place for you to show it off and snag some Halloween treats. Halloween at the Market Common allows kids to trick-or-treat from store to store in a safe environment. Most stores in Market Common will be participating from 4 PM until 6 PM.
