Witness the history of Charleston with a visit to the area from November 7-9 when locals will put together a festival to celebrate the Battle of Secessionville. Back in June of 1862, this famous battle was fought and will be re-enacted this November at the Boone Hall Plantation. History buffs will enjoy the tour of the lands as well as the information provided by the gifted actors as they showcase the events that eventually shaped the lands of Charleston. Proceeds from this event go to preserving the Confederate Submarine Hunley which was the first underwater vessel to sink an enemy vessel in warfare in February 1864.
