Explore Native American Culture and History in the Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon area is rich with American Indian culture and history, and interesting cultural points and historic ruins are spread throughout the area. Add another dimension to your vacation to the Grand Canyon when you explore the impact that the American Indians had on this area.
On the Indian Painting Safari Jeep Tour, visitors will experience the ancient home of the early native residents of Arizona. The Homolovi Ruins State Park also has camping available on site.
More Hopi ruins can be found at the Tusayan Ruin Walk near the Grand Canyon Village. This trail features pueblo dwellings and remnants of the early settlers of this area. Park rangers are on hand for guided tours of the ruins, and self-guided tour information is available as well. The trail is connected to the Tusayan museum. This interactive walk will take you back in time as you see how the early ancient settlers of this area lived.
