As the summer draws to a close the opportunity to experience many of the Gatlinburg – Pigeon Forge area’s water-based attractions are nearing an end for the season. From encompassing water park settings to thrilling river rafting adventures, there are a variety of ways to connect with family and friends while having a splashing good time in the Smokies!
Open through September 5, Splash Country offers a wet and wild Labor Day weekend vacation for one and all. From relaxing lazy rivers and pools to thrill rides including tubes and slides, all activity levels will find more than enough ways to enjoy the day at Splash Country. Additionally, nearly a dozen eateries are featured throughout the park to ensure a full-day experience.
Pigeon River Rafting
Just as with Splash Country, Pigeon River Rafting will end for the season after Labor Day weekend, offering a limited time to enjoy the natural beauty and rugged thrills the river holds. This particular rafting experience is approximately two hours and is perfect for novice and intermediate rafters, with rapids reaching Class III. Throughout the journey, you will be joined by a knowledgeable guide for a safe and immersive outdoor experience.
The Nantahala Raft and Rail is currently scheduling trips until the first weekend of October, offering an extra month to get out and experience the charm of the Smokies. Along this outdoor experience, you will cross the border of Tennesse and trek into North Carolina as you raft past jutting cliffs and other rugged scenery that North Carolina is noted for.
