Enjoy some authentic Ozarks fun during your visit to Branson when you take advantage of some of the area events. From the full Ozarks experience at the Ozarks Empire Fair to a night full of classic cars, these events have something for everyone.
The Ozarks Empire Fair is an annual event that draws visitors from all over the Ozarks to Springfield, Missouri. The fair takes place from July 31 to August 9 at the Missouri Entertainment and Event Center. Springfield is located just 30 minutes north of Branson and is conveniently accessible from Hwy 65 and I-44. The Ozarks Empire Fair will be open each day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the carnival opening at 1 p.m. and closing at midnight. Adult tickets are $6, and child tickets are $2.
The Ozarks Empire Fair includes everything you can expect from a full-scale country fair. A Midway carnival area will be open daily, featuring a variety of rides, ranging from traditional carnival rides to a full-scale roller coaster. There will also be a variety of food vendors, both from the Ozarks area and beyond. From sushi to barbecue to fried Snickers bars, you can find it all at the fair. In addition, there will be livestock shows, an exhibit hall, demonstrations, contests, and more going on throughout the week. One of the highlights of the fair is the live concert series. Country music act Montgomery Gentry is headlining this year’s fair, and other acts include the Beach Boys, Raven Symone, and an 80s Invasion Tour. All concerts are held at the Grandstand. At just thirty minutes from Branson, the Ozarks Empire Fair is worth the short drive for an afternoon or evening of fun.
Car lovers should mark their calendars for the annual Super Summer Cruise in Branson. This yearly event will be taking place August 6 through 8 and features over 500 vehicles in a cruise on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. During the event, over 500 cars, trucks, and other vehicles will be on display at the Show ‘n Shine at the Shepherd of the Hills Historic Homestead. The highlight of this event is the Midnight Cruise, when all of the participating vehicles take to the streets beginning at midnight, cruising from the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway to Roark Valley Road. This event is also a competition, with participants competing for the Best in Show awards, which will be awarded at the end of the weekend. There are a range of entry classes, including everything from 1972 stock cars to 2009 stock autos.
